Dr. Keiji Shiyomura (Dr. KG) was born and raised in California’s Central Valley. He graduated from Fresno State University and continued Post-Bach studies at the University of Oregon. Dr. KG earned his Doctorate at Pacific University’s College of Optometry in 2021.

Dr. KG has a strong passion for community outreach and providing eyecare to underserved populations. While in optometry school, he worked for Pacific University College of Optometry’s Eye Van which provides comprehensive eyecare to the homeless, migrant workers, and children. He also led a trip with his classmates to Costa Rica to provide vision services to the local residents of rural Turrialba.

While completing a clinical rotation at an Indian Health Services in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, he obtained his certification in Laser Treatments of the Anterior Segment by Northeastern State University College of Optometry. During his 4th year externship, he grew passionate about binocular vision and vision rehabilitation while interning at Northwest Eye Care Professionals.

After graduation, he began providing vision rehabilitation services for patients suffering from acquired and traumatic brain injuries at Northwest Eye Care Professionals under the guidance of Dr. Bruce Wojciechowski, Dr. Macson Lee, and Dr. John Reski. During this time, he gained invaluable experience providing exams for children at Providence’s Center for Medically Fragile Children. He really enjoys providing comprehensive eye care and education to all his patients.

Dr. KG enjoys exploring Central Oregon in his free time with his wife and dog. He is also bilingual, fluent in English and Spanish
